How AIMeru Protects Your Privacy
1. Local-First Data Storage
All your data is stored directly on your device:
- Personal journal entries remain on your device
- Relationship notes stay private unless you choose to share
- Chat conversations are saved locally
- No automatic cloud backups or server storage
2. Anonymous AI Inference
When you interact with AIMeru's AI:
- Browser identifying information is stripped before processing
- No personal identifiers are sent with AI requests
- AI providers cannot trace requests back to you
- Each request is stateless and independent
3. Partner Sharing (Optional)
If you choose to connect with a partner:
- Only relationship journal entries are shared
- Personal journal always remains private
- You control what gets shared
- End-to-end encrypted transmission
- You can disconnect at any time
What We Collect
Account Information
For beta accounts, we store only:
- Email address (for login)
- Hashed password (never plain text)
- First name (for personalization)
Usage Analytics
We collect minimal, anonymous analytics:
- General usage patterns (no personal data)
- Feature adoption rates
- Error reports (sanitized)
What We Don't Do
- Sell or share your personal data
- Store your journal entries on our servers
- Track your conversations or analyze content
- Use your data for advertising
- Share data with third parties (except AI inference)
Beta Program Notice: During the beta period, data persistence is not guaranteed. Regular exports of important content are recommended. The beta program ends June 30, 2025.
